Integration Architect

A solutions architect that can take a high level view of how a solution stack can be linked together in order to meet the customer’s business objectives. This requires an understanding of both the technological and application issues involved. Experience in Microsoft applications and technologies is required. This role will also help improve Columbus’ methodology for handling integrations.

Understand the business and technological aspects of systems integration to put together:

  • Integration strategies
  • Pre-sales estimates, assumptions & risks

Take ownership on an enterprise project for all activities that are needs to build successful integrations for a customer. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Proof of concept
  • Specification
  • Development
  • Development and unit testing
  • Integration and process testing
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and the opportunities and risks associated with them
  • Look for opportunities to template and reuse customer specific integrations to deliver additional value to the customer or Columbus
  • Develop Columbus' methodology for Integration projects

Experience

  • Minimum eight years of ERP in a consultant role
  • Taking responsibility for integration of ERP to other systems on large enterprise projects -  A minimum of three projects
  • Knowledge of the following technologies: ESB, Web services, File transfers (including EDI), Enterprise wide authentication (e.g. OpenID) - N.B. "Hands on" use of the technology is not needed but an appreciation of the strengths and weaknesses of the technology is required
  • Integration between cloud based and en-premise systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft dynamics and or Microsoft technologies is an advantage

Skills

  • Taking the lead in customer requirements workshops with the ability to steer customer opinion and become a trusted advisor
  • Team worker able to talk and influence all project staff i.e. Project managers, developers, testers, technical specialists and consultants
  • Quick to learn new technologies and business systems
  • Ability to influence and develop Columbus' Integration methodology
  • Ability to train and develop consulting staff in the important aspects of producing project deliverables e.g. PoC Results, specifications, test plans etc
  • Ability to audit/review all integration project deliverables in order to assess their quality and provide recommendations for improvement
