Early Career
"I studied mechanical engineering initially but decided to later pursue a combined degree in business & IT, this then provided me with a solid grounding in project management and inspired me to take this further.
I started as a Retail Manager this was a great starting point for me to understand how the role of a project manager works within a business and how to manage a team.
I then began transitioning quickly into a more project management position working in various industries, from local government, manufacturing, and financial institutions".
First project at Columbus
"My first project was with a well-known construction business, which was my first time working on CXE modules as I hadn't had any experience within this particular area, however, I wasn't on my own I had other CXE consultants working on this and where there to help and support me through it. The construction company was also looking to implement F&O simultaneously, so this was a great opportunity to work with a different business line within Dynamics. The project lasted about a year and a half".
Making a difference
"There is one particular project that I worked on with a UK-leading automation and control products manufacturer, this was solely a CXE project that I took a lead on. It was a great opportunity for us to look at the templates we were using and how we delivered this to clients, we took this opportunity to look at what we had and changed some of our processes to improve overall efficiency for future implementations."
Career Pathways
"The introduction of the new framework at Columbus has provided me with clear guidelines on what I need to focus on at each stage of my career, with support and direction from my line manager, who has been my biggest advocate in reaching my next goal. Other factors that have contributed to my success include embracing the company's culture, being curious, and placing value on self-development.
I am also involved in many other initiatives. I serve as a coach and trainer for our change management training sessions and act as a culture ambassador, promoting diversity and inclusion within Columbus.
The framework is designed to challenge and stretch your abilities."
The future
"The next step for me is to explore the potential of AI to enhance the efficiency and delivery of processes at Columbus. I believe this approach will enable me to advance to the next stage of my career within the CXE team, and I am eager to contribute to its success."
