Boomerang: D365 Business Development Manager
Tim's Story:
-
... a very warm welcome, which began before I joined Columbus. (I also joined with Covid!)
-
I was at Microsoft, so I learned a lot about Power Platform alongside Dynamics as a sales motion. That, and the emergence of AI into Dynamics. So I guess, I learnt that although we do tend to concentrate upon Dynamics functionality when selling, the power of the wider Microsoft platform and the benefits it brings needs to be exacerbated too.
-
I had no hesitation in considering a return to Columbus, since I had very much enjoyed the role, the company culture and people, before Microsoft stole me away! I had planned to review my Microsoft role after 12 months since I was not really happy in the role. Microsoft forced my hand somewhat since I was made redundant along with several hundred others in the UK.
-
My second first day was "on the ground, running". I had a prospect call and sales actions to get stuck into immediately. So, very easy to get going again amongst my former colleagues and friends.
-
The role hasn't really changed in the months I was away at Microsoft, though I would hope to bring my recent Microsoft experience to bear on the role I have at Columbus.
